High School

Photo for dramatic purpose only, I did not possess a camera phone at this time.
First Job
The very first job I got was in a phonebook company. We had just partnered with Google and I was tasked to plot points of interest on the then empty Google Maps.
*Up till today, I still cherish the memory of making 0.90c per listing while going through highschool.

Introduction to Advertising
I spent the summer break interning at a boutique advertising agency. Here, I was exposed to a variety of ad hoc work ranging from dome shows to product label designs.
As we are a small agency eager to jump at every new client, I was able to put to life work using graphic design, audio and video editing.

Worked as a Handyman in Uni

A weekly 2 hour radio show dedicated to campus updates and Nebraska-Lincoln life & culture.
Radio Host
Hosting a weekly radio show broke me out of my introvert shell and gave me the opportunity to hear and share stories that have forever changed my worldview.
In between playing alternative music, my segment would feature conversations about race and mental health, two busy conversations in the States.

A playground for families brought together by different brands and sponsors.
Minnesota Children’s Museum
When I first got into the museum, I’d never imagine that I would have the opportunity to collaborate with brands like Best Buy, the Minnesota Vikings and the State Arts Board.

Due to my educational background, I was put incharge of the TV commercial and big productions, which at that time, felt like a dream that I never had come true.
Graduated Summa cum Laude and moved to Minnesota

A collaborative effort by students to gather current news and present them in a 60 minutes broadcast.
Star City News
I strongly believe that nothing beats the stress of organizing a live news broadcast. Having planned every minute of the agenda just to find yourself putting out fires while maintaining the facade of a perfect 60 minutes show.
Through the 3 months period, rotating between floor and technical director, I learned to be calm, thorough and assertive.

Reprise, Part of IPG Mediabrands, my first job at an established advertising agency.
IPG
There are 3 types of clients that creatives avoid: banks, oil and telecommunication.
I found this the hard way as I landed my first Senior Graphic Designer job, with my main client being the Telco giant Digi, now known as CelcomDigi.
Although it was a challenging endeavor, I executed multiple digital and physical campaigns that brought out my passion for advertising.

Kia’s brand relaunch, marking the beginning of my Art Director career.
Havas
Following a successful stint at IPG, I moved into Havas as an Art Director. I was immediately selected to the company's most coveted account, KIA, having the mentorship of the then Executive Creative Director.
It was after this that I was given the opportunity to work around the APEC countries from Korea to Vietnam, mainly handling the KIA and Reckitt Benckiser account.

An independent agency that broke new ground and records.
Fishermen Integrated
My most recent career highlight was as a Creative Group Head with Fishermen, successfully pushing an initiative with PETRONAS. As an agency, we managed to win Effie Agency of the Year, a first for an independent local agency, and also the country's first Webby's.

Our team not only navigated the many challenges and obstacles of working for a transitioning fortune 500 company, but we also tripled our KPIs and expanded our work scope to cover more campaigns.

As a group head to the dedicated team, I was able to use my strengths as a front facing presenter, and team organization skills to ensure operations and projects were carried out with satisfaction for not only the clients but also the working team.

Marina Bay Area, the hotspot for new property and also focus of our agency's expanding portfolio.
Singapore
Moving into Singapore was a horizontal step for me. My personal philosophy is to understand the culture before beginning to interpret it into visual or copy. Being able to live with and study the people for the year has successful helped me navigate the subtleties and I now stand proud of my achievements with the agency. Being focused primarily on new pitches has helped tremendously with the integration.

Cheil
A culmination of experiences in digital, print and social has landed me a Creative Director role at Cheil. I took on the fascinating opportunity to explore new non-Samsung businesses and venture into uncharted territory for the agency.
